Thanks to our Supporters!

Thanks to our Supporters!!

Thanks to you a down-payment has been made to our documentary filmmaker for a budget and outline of a possible documentary film on Vanished.

No guarantee it will be made, you understand, but at least now the possibility exists.

Thanks again, John McReynolds

Documentary Film Maker Interested

Hi Everybody:

A friend of ours with contacts in the film community has shared the story of Vanished with a friend of his who is a documentary film maker. The film maker expressed initial interest and is reading the book.

If the film maker determines he is definitely interested in doing a documentary film about the book, we will need to raise $500-1000 to pay for a budget and a business plan to present to big donors. Please do NOT send money, but if you think you could help, please e-mail me at lompocwriter@gmail.com with a pledge amount. Don't count on it being tax deductible. Please be aware also that even if we raise the initial amount there is no guarantee we will be able to raise the much bigger total necessary to actually make the film. In other words, this is a bit of a gamble.

Thank you for all your support over the past twenty-two months. John McReynolds

Lompoc Girl Known by Nikkei Nickname

Two notes from the end of January:

A story of Toshi Inouye of Lompoc's Hinode Store came to light this week. Joey Galindo of Lompoc told it. It illustrated the warm relationship between Toshi and the Hispanic community. “My cousin Rosemary was always called Tochi,” Galindo said. “It was because Toshi ran the store. We changed it from Toshi to Tochi.”

Nearly 300 people attended the two memorial services for June Yoshitake last week. There were more than 200 in Lompoc and nearly 100 in Montebello.
